Spice up Dinner with Green Giant Seasoned Steamers (Review + Giveaway)

green giant logo
Since the birth of Little Miss, dinner in our house has become quite precarious. The reason? Dinnertime seems to be her "awake time" and I have to balance preparing food with keeping her happy and that doesn't always go over well. Thankfully, there are options out there that are easy to make, good for you and taste great - like the new Seasoned Steamers from Green Giant.
backyard grilled potatoes
Green Giant Seasoned Steamers provide a tasty new way to enjoy your vegetables. Available in six different varieties, like Tuscan Seasoned Broccoli and Backyard Grilled Potatoes, these flavorful options are seasoned to perfection, making eating your vegetables more easy and delicious!

Recently, we had the chance to see just how good these new creations were when we were sent a Green Giant Seasoned Steamers gift pack. Included in our gift pack was a VIP Coupon for one package of Green Giant Seasoned Steamers, a festive apron, mixing bowl and a Green Giant Serving Spoon.

After receiving the gift pack, I headed off to a local grocery store with my coupon in hand fully expecting not to see these new products in stock. (We live in a rural area and it sometimes takes a little time before we get new products.) However, much to my surprise, they not only had the Green Giant Seasoned Steamers, I had several options to choose from!
mediterranean blend
I opted to go with the Mediterranean Blend that includes roasted potatoes, zucchini and carrots with Mediterranean inspired seasonings. This naturally flavored blend actually came in a limited introductory size (13.5o z), which I believe is a bit bigger than normal size, and cost around $2.49.

When preparing the Mediterranean Blend Seasoned Steamers from Green Giant, the directions say to place in the microwave for 5 to 8 minutes, but I found that 6 minutes seemed to do the trick for us. I let the bag stand for one minute, opened it and a wonderful smell emerged! Inside was a perfectly flavored blend of vegetables that I really enjoyed! In fact, both Chris and I enjoyed them and went back for more. The potatoes had a great flavor and I also enjoyed the zucchini and carrots (which I rarely am a fan of cooked carrots). The size was perfect for just us two, but you might want to look into purchasing more than one bag if you have a larger family. Overall, I really enjoyed the flavor of the Mediterranean Blend Seasoned Steamers and the ease of preparation was wonderful (the price is great, too)! I will definitely be trying the other options available!

  29. Tuscan seasoned Broccoli sounds good to me. It is a nice way of making it with the seasonings already on it instead of the dull way I make it with butter or cheese.
